Principal Investigator
Dr. Lionel Faure
Clinical Associate Professor
Dr. Lionel Faure received his Ph.D. in 2009 from the University of Bordeaux, College of Health Sciences, Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. His Ph.D. was focused on studying lysolipid-acyltransferase in the plant model Arabidopsis thaliana. He completed postdoctoral studies in molecular biology at UNT, UGA, and TWU, working with plants, worms, and viruses. Since 2020, he has worked as a clinical assistant professor at Texas Woman's University. His work focuses on identifying new genetic strategies to enhance understanding of how to redirect plants' carbon flow toward lipid synthesis. His ultimate goal is to help create the next generation of biofuel crops to replace oil-based petroleum for transportation (e.g., cars, buses, and planes).
